Targeted Intervention Project with migrants in Alwar

The above is the ongoing project of NIRA, supported by Rajasthan Aids Control Society, at Alwar and Bhiwadi , targeted at Migrants in order to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and control its spread.

  1. Registration of migrants through the outreach program.
  2. Condom Distribution through social marketing.
  3. Referrals for STI patients.
  4. HIV Testing through VCTC.
  5. Awareness camps organized to raise awareness on different aspects of HIV/AIDS.
  6. Street Plays play an important role in disseminating information among the target group. 24 such plays were organized to achieve the same.
  7. Advocacy sessions.
  8. Conducting Exhibitions.

Challenge Funds for enhancing capacity of Young and Adolescents on HIV
Under the support of DFID, UK and MAMTA, Delhi to work on issue of HIV/AIDS with youth generation NIRA has initiated this programme with several new initiatives and it became highly popular and effective programme among youth. The geographical coverage of the project area six gram panchayats of two blocks i.e. Karauli & Hindon of Krauli district.. The focus group of the programme is youth between the age of 15-29 including both male and female. This programme has concentrate three component of area i.e.,

  • Information Accessibility,
  • Service Accessibility and c
  • Create an enabling environment.
  • Advocacy with Young People through SRJAN Network
  • Sensitization Workshop on Early Marriage & Early Pregnancy

JEEVANSHA COMMUNITY CARE CENTER- JAIPUR

Centre cum Hospital at Jaipur with support of LFPHT since 2009. We are focusing on in-patient care, out patient facility for consultation of illness related to HIV/ADIS, referral services, outreach programme, condom promotion and ensure the access to the cli ents and other support services as per need.

  • To Promote Use of Condoms among migrants and Female Sex Workers and their Partners
  • To understand risks factors of Sex Workers (HRGS) for HIV
  • To Prevention of Sexual Transmitted Infection among Migrants and Female Sex Workers (HRGS)
  • To Enhance sensitivity needs of Migrants and Female Sex Workers (HRGS)
